“As the President of the WKN, today marks a historic day for the sport in the Indian Ocean, as we have crowned the first double weekend world champion in Mauritius.
Mauritius is widely known for its breathtaking landscapes and stunning beaches, and from now on, it will also be recognized for its fighters. A new sporting legacy has begun to take shape on this beautiful island.
I would personally like to extend my sincere gratitude to the promoter, Vimen Sabapati, for the trust he has placed in us. I also wish to congratulate all the newly crowned champions from this event, and especially the new WKN World Champion Ryan Bergicourt.
None of this would have been possible without the dedicated work of our Indian Ocean coordinator, Mr. Didier Wullschleger. His commitment and professionalism have been essential to the success of this organization.
Mauritius is full of talented fighters, many of whom are still undiscovered. Together with our global WKN team, we will do everything possible to bring these hidden gems to the international stage and give them the recognition they deserve.”
