On July 27, 2018 Madagascar received its first in history WKN World champion when Andifita Mahery claimed welterweight title scoring the decision against Hirachidine Saindou of Mayotte. The pair battled out in the main event of “King of Kickboxing” held in Dzaoudzi live on KWEZI TV.
Also on the night his country-fellow Pierre Voari became WKN Indian Ocean Welterweight champion taking the first-round knockout win against Moussa Raphael of Tanzania.
Following the event kickboxing stars out of Madagascar, Andifita Mahery and Pierre Voari made international headlines and appeared on national TV.
Next month World Kickboxing Network is scheduled to visit Madagascar with the first in history kickboxing world championship promoted in the country, when local star Johane Beausejour and Damien Cazambo of Reunion Island battle out for World Super Middleweight title in Muay Thai in the main event of Xtreme Combat 3 held in Antananarivo on September 8.
