🇰🇭Kun Khmer: A Millennia-Old Sport Entering a New International Era !
Over the past two years, the WKN has made a clear decision to actively support and develop Kun Khmer on the international stage.
Working in close collaboration with General Khov Chhay and his federation, the KKF, under his presidency, the WKN is committed to promoting Kun Khmer beyond Cambodia and introducing this historic combat sport to new audiences around the world.
In recent years, Cambodia has become a major stage for a remarkable number of combat-sport events, bringing together organizations, promoters and disciplines from many different backgrounds.
From the beginning, however, the WKN has chosen a clear direction: to contribute to the international development and recognition of Kun Khmer through a structured network of events and championships.
As part of this international development, Kun Khmer has now been officially registered by the WKN on BoxRec, our exclusive partner with whom we have been working for several years. This represents an important step toward establishing an official international record and greater visibility for Kun Khmer and its athletes.
This international expansion is already becoming a reality. WKN Kun Khmer events have been confirmed in Belgium 🇧🇪 and Argentina 🇦🇷, while another organization in Tunisia 🇹🇳 is currently in development.
The objective is clear: to establish Kun Khmer as a truly international combat sport while respecting its Cambodian heritage, identity and traditions.
And very soon, the WKN hopes to have the opportunity to sanction major Kun Khmer championships in Cambodia itself, creating a strong bridge between the sport’s homeland and its growing international presence.
Kun Khmer has a millennia-old heritage. Today, it is ready to write a new chapter on the international combat-sports scene.
