🇭🇹🇦🇷Brian Bataglia Crowned Champion for Historic First Kun Khmer title in South America !
On May 3rd, the city of Quilmes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, hosted a groundbreaking event in combat sports history: “812 FIGHTS”, marking the first-ever Kun Khmer championship held in South America. This landmark occasion brought the traditional Cambodian martial art to a new continent, signaling its growing global recognition.
Promoted and organized by Alejandro Iñiguez, the event was conducted under the supervision of a professional and dedicated team. Susana Arreghi served as the official in charge, alongside inspectors and supervisor Carlos Suarez. Medical support was provided by Leonardo Tannaus, while Ignacio Alzua ensured precise timekeeping throughout the bouts. The judging panel consisted of Juan Silva, Claudio Pertuso, and Emanuel Dobler, with Gustavo Scarfo officiating as referee.
The main event featured a high-level professional Kun Khmer bout contested over five rounds of three minutes each, for the WKN title. Argentina’s Brian Bataglia faced fellow countryman Rodrigo Bogado in a thrilling and technical fight that showcased the discipline, intensity, and artistry of Kun Khmer.
After five competitive rounds, 👑Brian Bataglia secured victory by points, earning the prestigious title and etching his name in history as the first Kun Khmer champion in South America.
This event not only highlighted the talent of Argentine fighters but also represented a significant milestone in the international expansion of Kun Khmer. “812 FIGHTS” will be remembered as a pioneering moment that opened the doors for future competitions and the continued growth of this ancient martial art across the continent.
