A Day of Mourning for the WKN Family
Tribute to Valentine lasenko 🖤
Today is a sad day for the entire WKN family following the passing of our dear friend Valentine Lasenko.
Valentine Lasenko was a personal and closed friend of the WKN World President, and someone who was very close to his heart. More than 20 years ago, he became the first WKN promoter in the Baltic countries, marking the beginning of a long, sincere, and loyal relationship with our president.
Despite the language, the bond between him and our President was deep and genuine. Their connection went beyond words, built on mutual respect, kindness, and human warmth.
Today, as his funeral takes place, the WKN World President wished to pay tribute to him:
“Valentine was a unique person. Someone very special, with a rare kindness and full of life. He never spoke English, so it was very difficult for us to communicate with words, but a simple smile and the look in his sparkling eyes were always enough for me to understand his compassion, his deep friendship and real respect. Today is the day of his funeral, and I feel very deep sadness. Valentine smile and his eyes will stay forever in my heart.”
His son Vadim Lasenko, a man deeply respected and admired for his remarkable journey in sport. Today, Vadim is the President of the Latvian Football Federation and also a leading figure in world futsal.
On this painful day, the WKN family sends all its strength, love, and support to Vadim. There is no doubt that he will continue to honor, at the highest level, the name, legacy, and values of his father, whose memory will forever remain alive within the WKN.
🖤 Rest in peace, Valentine. You will never be forgotten
