🇨🇱 WKN South American Champion Ignacio “El Duro” Duarte at the Center of WKN Intercontinental Championship Talks in Chile
Chile continues its rapid rise on the international kickboxing scene as the WKN World Office is currently in full negotiations to organize the very first WKN Intercontinental Championship ever held in the country, with Ignacio “El Duro” Duarte at the heart of the project.
Already the reigning WKN South American Champion, Duarte is being strongly considered to headline this historic event, which is expected to take place in April. He would face a high-level European opponent, making this bout a landmark occasion and the first WKN Intercontinental title fight ever organized on Chilean soil.
This major development follows the important December 20 WKN event in Chile, set to close the season with national WKN title fights and to showcase the excellent work carried out throughout the year. The WKN World Office, led by its president who oversees all major international championships, has officially approved discussions to bring this prestigious title to Chile.
In parallel, WKN is also preparing the creation of an official WKN Chile team, which will be formed after an international WKN training camp, further strengthening Chile’s structure and international presence.
With a South American champion like Ignacio “El Duro” Duarte leading the way, Chile is clearly positioning itself as a fast-growing force in global kickboxing and a new destination for top-level WKN events.
