WKN Slovakia: Kickboxing series Simply the Best 16 Kosice results

International kickboxing returned to Slovakia with Simply the Best 16 Kosice promoted by Lukas Body and Petr Lamac at Steel Arena on October 14. The event was the second show in the city following “Rebuy Stars Fight Night” presented in June. It was also the fourth “STB” series in the country with three previous episodes produced in Poprad.

The program featured a series of kickboxing, boxing and MMA bouts, with three WKN titles contested on the night. The roster included the A-list Slovakian athletes up against international opponents, representing Belarus, Egypt, Poland, Lithuania, France, Romania and Czech Republic.

In the main event Slovakian Vladimir Morarcik faced off Belarusian Yuri Bessmertny. The pair battled out for WKN International super middleweight belt. The bout went the distance, with the result proclaimed by the judges as a unanimous draw.

In the co-main event “Slovakian Giant” Tomas Mozny stopped Egyptian-Polish Ayman Hassanin in the first round. Also on the card Pavol Garaj defeated Czech Matous Kohout, claiming WKN International middleweight title. Lithuanian Mixed Martial Artists Sergej Grecicho caused an upset when he took the third-round stoppage against local Miroslav Strbak, as well as WKN International welterweight belt. In addition French middleweight Bakari Tounkara KO’d Slovakian Vladimir Idranyi.
