WKN President Supervises Historic Fight in Africa: A Testament to Africa’s Boxing Spirit !
In a remarkable show of dedication to the global development of boxing, the WKN president took an active role in organizing one of the most significant sporting events of the year in Africa. Acting as the official supervisor for the main event in Tanzania, he brought a high level of professionalism and deep expertise to orchestrate this historic championship. The highlight of the night was the thrilling victory of the first-ever Tanzanian IBA champion.
From public press conferences and weigh-ins to interviews, the WKN president ensured that the event was a grand spectacle, worthy of national and even continental attention. The event, promoted by Mafia Boxing Promotions, was a resounding success, bolstered by the support of Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan herself, who made sure the entire country could witness the action by broadcasting the event on giant screens across Tanzania.
During his stay, the WKN president took time to visit local boxing gyms, as he often does. He was accompanied by his longtime friend, Emmanuel Mlundwa, an African boxing legend who represented Tanzania at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Mlundwa is also the WKN coordinator in Tanzania and has been a key figure in Tanzanian boxing for many years. WKN has organized multiple African championships in the country, with further projects already being planned.
These visits to local gyms allowed the WKN president to experience the essence of African boxing firsthand—tough, raw, and filled with the spirit of combat. Despite the spartan training conditions, the heart and soul of the sport remain strong. This unforgettable experience motivated him to extend WKN’s global support program, “WKN World Tour,” by sending essential equipment like gloves and mitts to help improve training conditions for these talented fighters.
The WKN takes great pride in its president, who has become a key figure in professional boxing regulation worldwide. His extensive field experience and deep knowledge continue to elevate the credibility and prestige of the WKN on the global stage. The WKN is known not only as the most humane kickboxing federation but also as the one most closely aligned with professional boxing. For over three decades, WKN has maintained a unique relationship with the noble art, unmatched by any other federation. It is no coincidence that WKN is the only kickboxing organization in the world to have partnered twice with legendary American promoter Don King, during his reign as the undisputed king of global boxing.
As a touching gesture, before his departure to Europe, Emmanuel Mlundwa and his former WKN African champion student, Ashraf, traveled from Zanzibar to personally escort the president to the airport.
We are always admired, always imitated, but never equaled. That’s why we remain, as always, “SIMPLY THE BEST.”
This event is a testament to the enduring strength and spirit of African boxing, and we will continue to stand alongside Africa in its journey to further greatness.
