On June 30 Billy Murray presented the next edition of “made-in Prokick” events at Stormont Hotel Belfast. The Saturday Fight Night Special featured a series of international bouts, with some of the best kickboxers of Northern Ireland up against the representatives of Cyprus, Malta and the UK.
In the main event Darren McMullan’s return to the ring didn’t go according to plan as doctor calls a halt to big fight before the fight really kicked-off. Just seconds into the opened round and after McMullan was down with a left hook the doctor Mr P McGurk called a halt to the fight not with the knock-down but with a nasty cut which was opened up over the left eye – melting the IceMan’s return to the ring at the Stormont hotel in Belfast. Nikolas Konstantinou was proclaimed as the winner by TKO.
The Semi main event with Rafa Del-Toro (Gran Canaria) and Stefanos Stamatiou (Cyprus) lived up to the billing as fight fans were treated to a masterclass in kickboxing. Rafa took the fight on a unanimous points victory.
Also on the night local Rowena Bolt captured WKN International Flyweight title taking the third round TKO win as well as the revenge against Maltese Diane Schemeri. The pair first met in Malta last November where the representative of the country host took the decision.
