WKN & Malta š²š¹: When Loyalty and Vision Are Forgotten!
Malta has been, for many years, a valued partner of the World Kickboxing Network -WKN. The country has proudly produced major international champions and a generation of respected fighters who carried the Maltese flag with honor on some of the worldās most prestigious stages. Together, we built solid foundations for the long-term development of combat sports in Malta.
The WKN invested time, trust, and expertise to help Maltese promoters grow. We opened doors, offered international visibility, and stood side by side during the most important moments of their development. This history is real, and it mattered.
Today, it is difficult to understand why some of those very same promotersāwho were supported, guided, and trusted for yearsāhave chosen to walk away from the WKN and align themselves with other federations. Unfortunately, many of these new affiliations offer no real structure or vision, and instead have damaged the credibility and momentum that took years to build.
The result? No Maltese fighters are currently active or visible on the international scene, and the countryās once-strong presence has faded into the background. The WKN, which once helped Malta shine globally, is now watching from the sidelines, as years of hard work are slowly being undone.
This is not about pride. This is about legacy, loyalty, and vision. The WKN remains open and willing to work with any serious Maltese partner who believes in buildingānot destroyingāthe future of combat sports.
The potential is still there. So is the respect. But itās time to ask the real question: What happened to the spirit that once made Malta a rising force in our sport?
