Johnny Smith vs Lee Sung-hyun for a prestigious World Kickboxing Network welterweight title, as well as a pair of WKN European championship bouts, have been made official for Saturday, November 27, as all participants stepped on the scales ahead of their respective bouts at βKnockdown Lockdownβ at Stormont Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Both main event fighters, Northern Irelandβs star Johnny Smith and Koreaβs top contender Lee Sung-hyun, made the required 69.9 kg (154.1 lbs) limit for their WKN World welterweight title clash. βThe Korean Monsterβ weighed-in at 69.5 kg. βSwiftβ Smith came in exactly at 69.9 kg. The world championship bout is scheduled for five by three minute rounds.
Northern Irelandβs Grace Goody weighed-in at 58.1 kg for her WKN European super bantamweight amateur title bout against Kubra Akdut of Germany, who was 57.8 kg. In addition, local Jay Snoddon and Ranieri Cingolani of Italy both showed 59.6 kg for their WKN European featherweight amateur title match.
The promoter of βKnockdown Lockdownβ is Billy Murray, who himself over the course of his fighting career earned world kickboxing titles in four different weight classes.
Special guest at the event is WKN World President Stephane Cabrera.
