Created by Angelo Simson, the greatest promoter in Suriname, former WKN champion, and founder of the country’s most renowned gym “Simson Gym” with the highest number of champions, The Rise Amazonia is a groundbreaking concept blending both amateur and professional competition.
The event not only featured a professional heavyweight bout, but also brought the spotlight onto the new generation of fighters from Suriname and Brazil, strongly supported by Suriname’s newly elected President. The organization was flawless in every aspect and has been officially registered on BoxRec, further strengthening its credibility.
This success was made possible through the collaboration with Luciano Nogueira, co-promoter in Belém, Brazil, whose contribution has been vital to the growth of the project.
Looking ahead, the next The Rise Amazonia event will take place in November in Suriname. It is also worth noting that Ian Simson, the son of Angelo Simson, secured a great victory at the last event and is now ready to compete for the WKN International Championship in New York this November.
