Rangel Ivanov takes WKN International Welterweight title

The WKN International title was on the line last night (July 6) in Bulgaria. The contest headlined the “Savages Kickboxing” event presented by Dobromir Ivanov at Shumen Arena in Shumen.

Rangel Ivanov of Bulgaria faced Stefan Sipos of Slovakia in the scheduled for three rounds championship battle at welterweight. The encounter ended prior to the final bell. The local competitor claimed the belt by knockout in the third round via a flying knee.

Over the years Bulgaria has been a prominent host of a number of the world-class events including Girl Power Kickboxing and Bigger’s Better Boxing.

The Savages Kickboxing event in Shumen was one of four championship events that World Kickboxing Network held this past Saturday in Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria and Argentina.

Among the bouts, Brandon Vieira of France became a two-style WKN World Super Featherweight champion when he earned the decision against Nicola Canu at The Night of Super Fight 7 in Iglesias, Sardinia.

Paulo Gerson of Portugal took WKN International Super Welterweight title after he scored the decision against Matteo Costa of Italy at Showfight 37 in Lisbon.

In addition, Gaston Monroe defeated his country-fellow Dylan Salazar and earned WKN Argentinian Lightweight title at Bosch Tour “Estrellas de Acero” in Morón, Buenos Aires.
