New Official Certification System for WKN Officials – Effective 2026
Starting in 2026, the World Kickboxing Network will implement a new unified certification system for all official functions.
This system will apply to Judges, Referees, Supervisors, Timekeepers, and all roles related to officiating.
All previous or separate certifications will be standardized and harmonized under a single official framework.
This evolution does not change the fact that many WKN events are currently officiated by judges and referees appointed by national commissions.
The WKN fully respects and recognizes the work, authority, and professionalism of these national commissions, and will continue to work hand in hand with many of them around the world.
However, at the internal WKN level, and for all matters related to WKN governance, appointments, and international recognition, only officials holding the official WKN certificate issued under this new system will be recognized worldwide from 2026 onward.
From that date, this single WKN certificate will be the only document granting the right to officiate within the WKN framework at an international level.
This reform aims to:
• Ensure uniform standards across all WKN competitions
• Strengthen professionalism, transparency, and credibility
• Clarify global recognition and authority of WKN officials
The WKN remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and excellence in officiating worldwide.
