🇰🇠KRUD KUN KHMER: Vattanac Group Driving the Future of Cambodia’s National Combat Sport
A 100% Cambodian-owned company, Vattanac Group, through Vattanac Brewery and Vattanac Capital, stands today as one of the leading corporate groups in Cambodia. Deeply rooted in national identity and driven by a genuine passion for sports, the Group’s owners have made a strong and visionary commitment to the development of Kun Khmer, a centuries-old martial art and a cornerstone of Cambodian cultural heritage.
Through its companies, particularly Vattanac Brewery, which focuses on the beverage sector, the Group actively supports and sponsors major Kun Khmer events across the country. These events attract extraordinary crowds, consistently gathering over 10,000 spectators per event, making them unquestionably among the largest combat sports events not only in Cambodia, but across Asia.
This strategic involvement of a major national group in a rapidly growing sport sends a powerful message. It directly supports the professionalization, structuring, and long-term sustainability of Kun Khmer, building a solid foundation that ensures continued growth and international relevance in the years ahead. Vattanac Group’s commitment goes far beyond sponsorship—it is a long-term investment in sport, culture, and national pride.
This vision led to the creation of KRUD KUN KHMER, now recognized as the most popular Kun Khmer organization in Cambodia. With massive events, a strong identity, and consistently high standards, KRUD KUN KHMER has set a new benchmark for the sport. Its success is driven by a highly experienced team, supported by the leadership of the Kun Khmer Federation (KKF) under the presidency of General Khov Chhay. Together, they have established a unique organization with its own standards and specific criteria that distinguish it at both national and regional levels.
These outstanding standards greatly impressed the President of the WKN during a visit to Cambodia. Discovering Kun Khmer firsthand revealed the immense potential of this ancient discipline. With over three decades of experience on the global combat sports stage, the WKN decided to integrate Kun Khmer into its international platform.
As a result, the WKN had the privilege of organizing, in collaboration with Vattanac Group and KRUD KUN KHMER, the first-ever WKN Kun Khmer Championship. Drawing on its global expertise, international network, and organizational strength, the WKN is fully committed to elevating Kun Khmer into a major, globally recognized, and respected combat sport, while preserving its authenticity, traditions, and cultural heritage.
