Jorge ‘Acero’ Cali: Tribute to kickboxing legend from Argentina

It is with a broken heart and devastation World Kickboxing Network announces the news of passing of champion from Argentina, Jorge “Acero” Cali (1972-2021).

Over the course of his career Jorge “Acero” Cali held WKN World Cruiserweight title and made three successful defenses of his belt, as well as competed in MMA. He has been instrumental to help popularize kickboxing in Argentina and South America, being a true ambassador and face of the sport.

Alongside competing inside the ring, Jorge “Acero” Cali has been a successful promoter, who held numerous world-class events throughout Argentina, including kickboxing series “Simply the Best”.

Most recently, Jorge “Acero” Cali teamed up with former two-division boxing world champion, Marcos “El Chino” Maidana. The duo has produced a number of boxing events aiming to help rise Argentine stars of “The Sweet Science”.

Further, Jorge “Acero” Cali has been known as a true patriot, proudly representing Argentina, and always striving to help his people and community.

Jorge “Acero” Cali will always be remembered for his loyalty, true family spirit, smile and determination.
