In the heart of WKN Tunisia πΉπ³
* Interview with WKN National coordinator and promoter of Royal Fight Night, Mr Karim Chebbi.
β Hello, what is the balance sheet of your organization?
Overall, we came out with a positive result. We learned a lot, but most importantly, we lacked time to better organize this event. What disappointed me the most were the partners who backed out at the last minute. Financially and organizationally, this was very damaging for us. But we saw it through to the end. Our determination was unwavering, and we wanted to rise to the challenge, and we did. On the sporting front, it was a success, though bittersweet. The celebration would have been complete if our champion Ramzi Nouainia hadnβt been injured. Finally, this event allowed us to discover a pure talent, Abdelhak Jouba, who I am sure will have a long and successful career. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event, especially the Royal Thalassa Monastir Hotel, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Tunisian Kickboxing Federation, the Governor of Monastir, and my [friend/colleague] Ridha Helali, who helped me immensely in making this event a success, and finally all the referees who participated voluntarily.
β How did your first collaboration with the WKN go?
Our first collaboration with the World Kickboxing Network (WKN) was a highly enriching and educational experience. From the outset, we were impressed by their professional approach and the depth of expertise they brought to the table. Working with WKN allowed us to gain invaluable insights into the world of professional kickboxing. Their extensive network and knowledge of the sport significantly enhanced the scope and reach of our event. We had an excellent collaboration with the WKN, which was of great help to us, particularly its president, Mr. StΓ©phane Cabrera. I am proud to be a part of the WKN family today
β Despite a World championship shortened by a medical leave, what do you think of the Tunisian fighters & their average level ?
Despite the world championship being curtailed by unforeseen medical leave, the performance of Tunisian fighters left a lasting impression. Their skill level and determination in the face of adversity were commendable. Tunisian fighters, known for their resilience and technical prowess, have consistently shown that they can compete at the highest levels. the Tunisian fighters have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with. With continued support and opportunities to participate in international competitions, I believe their skill level will only continue to rise, further establishing Tunisia as a key player in the world of kickboxing.
β Do you think there will be great & famous champions in the country in the near future?
The talent pool in Tunisia is rich, with many young and dedicated athletes showing remarkable potential. These fighters have already demonstrated resilience, technical skill, and a deep passion for the sport, which are key ingredients for creating champions. Iβm pretty sure that we will see great and famous Tunisian champions in the near future.
β Will Jouba, the new WKN Tunisian champion, have a continental chance soon?
Jouba will certainly have the chance to compete for an intercontinental title in 2024. Royal Night Fight 1 witnessed the emergence of a champion, and I am confident that with dedication and hard work, he will dominate his category
β What are your future plans to develop the WKN in Tunisia ?
We have made a very good start in Tunisia, and we are not going to stop here. We plan to hold at least three editions of Royal Night Fight in 2024, including a rematch between Nouania and Mendes towards the end of 2024. My goal this time is to organize an event with 2 or 3 world titles
Thank you Mr Karim Chebbi & our Supervisor Mr Elian Nouvel.
