Historic First WKN Kun Khmer World Championship Confirmed for February 2026 in Cambodia 🇰🇭!
The first-ever WKN Kun Khmer World Championship, originally scheduled for December 14 and later postponed, is now officially set to take place in February in Cambodia.
Following a constructive and respectful exchange between the WKN President and General Kov Chayy, it was mutually agreed yesterday that this historic championship will be held very soon, during the month of February. This milestone event marks a major step forward for the international recognition of Kun Khmer, Cambodia’s ancestral combat sport.
The championship will shine a spotlight on Cambodian star Lorn Panha, who will compete in the Welterweight division against an opponent to be officially confirmed by the WKN in the coming days.
The WKN President emphasized how proud he is of the strong and serious working relationship that has been established with General Khov Chhay, a collaboration built on trust and shared ambition to develop and preserve Kun Khmer at the highest international level.
Adding to the historical significance of this event, the very first WKN Kun Khmer World Championship will be officially listed on BoxRec, the WKN’s exclusive partner. Through historic agreements between WKN and BoxRec, all WKN Kun Khmer bouts will now be globally recorded and recognized, further elevating the sport on the world stage.
This February event represents a turning point for Kun Khmer, honoring its roots while opening a new era of international visibility and professional recognition.
