Gropaj, Berthely victorious at Villejuif Boxing Show

Villejuif Boxing Show was held on March 15 in Villejuif (southern suburb of Paris), France. The event featured a pair of WKN championship bouts.

French Benjamin Gerbet went up against George Gropaj of Greece. The pair battled it out for a vacant WKN European Middleweight title.

The scheduled for five rounds championship bout ended prior the final bell. The Greek fighter earned the win as well as a prestigious belt by TKO in Round 1.

Another representative of the country-host, Christian Berthely faced Altynbek Zhunusov of Kazakhstan in defense of his WKN Intercontinental Super Welterweight title. The bout went the distance ending in favor of the French fighter who retained the belt.

The event marked the first time when Kazakh fighter challenged for WKN title in France. The championship supervisor was Osman Yigin.
