The World Kickboxing Network made its third visit to Belgium for 2019 with the annual ‘La Nuit des Titans’ held at Hall Omnisports in Farciennes on November 24. The event presented by ‘The Legend’ Osman Yigin featured a series of Muay Thai and Kickboxing bouts with two WKN titles contested on the night.
In the main event Gaetano Pirrello of Belgium and Ahmed Alikada of France battled it out for WKN European Super Featherweight title in Muay Thai. The championship bout went a full five-round distance and ended in favor of the representative of the country-host. Gaetano claimed the win by unanimous decision, and added a new prestigeous belt to his collection. Earlier in his career the competitor out of Osman Gym held amateur world and European titles.
The second WKN title bout saw local Soufiane Ait Ouccime squaring off against Umar Abubakar of Ghana. After three rounds of international contest the Belgian kickboxer came out victorious by unanimous decision.
Also on the night, Salvatore Scaletta defeated his Belgian-fellow Mohammed Kloua and earned national strap in the featherweight class. He also took the revenge for the defeat suffered at Simply the Best 17 two years ago.
In addition, newly-crowned WKN European Featherweight champion Ougo Huet was also in action, scoring the win by TKO against Fabien Bernard in the first round of their 59 kg-catchweight Muay Thai bout. The undercard featured a series of amateur bouts in kickboxing and Muay Thai.
La Nuit des Titans 2019 in Farciennes, Belgium was presented on the same day (Nov. 24) as Estrellas de Acero 5 in Ireno Portela, Buenos Aires. The event saw over 150 bouts contested in terms of WKN Argentinian series of rating tournaments.
