Flashback: The WKN and one of the First Official K-1

Flashback: The WKN and one of the First Official K-1 Event in Europe ✨
The WKN was the first federation to organize a championship in partnership with the official Japanese K-1.
This historic event took place in Denmark on June 9, 2001, 24 years ago, during the very first official K-1 event held in Europe: the K-1 Scandinavia. Fighters such as Joergen Krut, Greg Tony, Antoni Hardonk, Tofan Pirani, and many others participated in the 8-man tournament.
In the co-main event of the evening, the WKN European Lightweight Muay Thai Championship featured a high-level clash between Denmark’s Dennis Koebke and Belarus’ Andrei Kotsur. The Danish fighter emerged victorious on points after a high-quality bout.
The WKN president himself was present at the event, collaborating seriously and amicably with the K-1 organization leaders of that era.
