Becoming a WORLD CHAMPION must become SERIOUS & HONEST again!
For several years now, the awarding of official titles by the world’s largest kickboxing & Thai boxing federations has left people truly and often speechless. A real disaster!
World champions seem to emerge from everywhere and every weekend, often with illustrious unknowns who have not even passed through the national and continental levels. We even see interim champions among certain organizations. It’s worse than Boxing, where the system has been confusing for a very long time.
This whole new “WORLD CHAMPION CIRCUS” is cheerfully relayed by social networks and so-called “specialized” sites, which are special only in name because their content is completely complacent—and complicit—in these sporting frauds, which have practically become the norm.
As a result, there are almost no serious TV broadcasters for kickboxing and Thai boxing in the world, with almost no known or recognized stars left! How can you explain on TV how the awarding of a world title works when it has no legitimacy, even within the federation itself?
The WKN, which also has its faults—as no sports organization is perfect—very often refuses world championships that lack a serious foundation. But in the days that follow, we see these same championships approved by other organizations, who publicly boast about the number of titles produced per month… or even per week. It’s a real fire sale where anyone can easily, with a paltry budget, be awarded the title of SUPREME WORLD CHAMPION. “Go ahead Mr. & Mrs., a discounted world champion title and another as a bonus.” It’s like losing your mind sometimes!
If you love our sports and their true values, be honest with yourself and don’t get caught up in this easy game where, as long as you pay, you believe you have the right to become a World Champion. Give honor to our sports and respect through your work in the gym and your performances in the ring. Then, when you reach the top, you can fully enjoy the chance to compete in a real world championship.
In a time when everything moves fast, everything is fleeting, and everything seems easy and possible—take a look at the fundamentals and the basics: Sport and its values!
