Back to the WKN Rules ✍️
The WKN – World Kickboxing Network has specific rules regarding the acquisition and defense of its titles.
*Title Defense Regulations
Please note that the following rules apply to all matters concerning title defenses:
• Professional International Titles
All professional international titleholders are required to defend their titles within a mandatory period of six (6) months after winning the title.
Failure to comply within this timeframe may result in the title being declared vacant by the WKN.
• National and Pro-Amateur Titles
For national and pro-amateur titles, there is no mandatory defense once the title has been won. Such titles are considered valid for a single bout only.
However, if the reigning champion wishes to defend their title, they must notify the WKN World Office in writing immediately after the fight. If no such notification is received within one (1) week following the fight, the title will be automatically declared vacant and may be contested in subsequent bouts, according to established regulations.
This regulation for National & pro/am international championships, established by the WKN many years ago, ensures accessible opportunities for fighters to earn these important titles and advance in their careers.
