No Interim Titles at WKN – Only Real Champions !
The World Kickboxing Network . WKN enforces a strict and transparent policy regarding the awarding and defense of its official titles.
Interim championships have no place within the WKN structure. This applies to all of our major titles including Continental, Intercontinental, and World Championships. Since our founding in 1994, not a single interim title has ever been sanctioned. Our rules are simple and consistent: champions must defend their titles within six months. If a title is not defended within that time frame, it is declared vacant.
At WKN, we believe that the concept of an “interim champion” holds no sporting or organizational value. In today’s combat sports landscape where the meaning of world titles is increasingly undermined by the unchecked proliferation of belts lacking legitimacy we remain firmly committed to credibility, tradition, and excellence.
Furthermore, with regard to our exclusive partnership with BoxRec, our standards are equally strict: interim champions are not recognized or listed in our official database. Only legitimate, undisputed champions are recorded, in alignment with our values and the integrity of the sport.
We will continue to uphold the prestige and honor of every title contested under the WKN banner.
WKN – Simply the Best since 1994.
