An Extraordinary Journey by WKN President – Thailand 🇹🇭 Cambodia 🇰🇭 Vietnam 🇻🇳
This extraordinary journey has allowed me to elevate the passion for combat sports that has driven me for so long.
🇹🇭In Thailand, I encountered key figures in the international sports scene, oversaw the first WKN Asian and World Championships, and witnessed two incredible bouts of the year: one junior boxing match and a world title fight in kickboxing. This also marked the first kickboxing title at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium, in collaboration with the highly professional Lumpinee Thaiboxing Commission. Notably, the win at the Lumpinee show was the first time kickboxing and professional boxing were officially mixed on BoxRec, the No. 1 boxing site in the world.
I also had the honor of meeting Mr. Samita of Big Joe Promotion, who is undoubtedly the rising star promoter in Thailand. His hospitality and kindness deeply touched me. I am confident that we will achieve great things together in the near future.
🇰🇭Cambodia, a country with a rich history in combat sports, left a lasting impression on me. I was able to experience the enthusiasm of an entire nation for their national sport, Kun Khmer . I watched a live televised event, where between 20,000 and 50,000 spectators enjoyed fights of exceptional quality. I believe that I will soon be able to develop a strong relationship with Cambodia, and I have already received a recent request for promotion. The talent pool of fighters there is truly exceptional.
🇻🇳Finally, I concluded my journey in Vietnam, a country I love, in the company of someone I equally cherish, Mr. Trịnh of Trigger Boxing. He is not only a passionate individual but an expert in combat sports, particularly boxing. Mr. Trịnh holds several firsts in Vietnam: the first professional boxing coach, the first professional boxing promoter, and the first to organize a world championship in boxing. This IBA championship, which I personally supervised, took place in an incredible atmosphere. Mr. Trịnh and his wife, with whom I spent wonderful moments, are a couple who truly love our sport and are devoted enthusiasts. I also had the opportunity to visit two of Mr. Trịnh’s four gyms, which embody the same spirit of excellence and are among the best I have ever seen, even after traveling to more than 140 countries. I am grateful for their incredible kindness.
I could learn a lot and study the history and life of these three countries. During this travel, I planted new seeds that will soon grow, contributing to the development and expansion of the fight sports legacy.
In summary, this trip through Southeast Asia has been an experience I will never forget, filled with unforgettable moments. Thank you to everyone who made it special.
My next journey to develop our sports will take place at the end of January and the beginning of February, where I will visit Peru 🇵🇪, Colombia 🇨🇴, Chile 🇨🇱, and Uruguay 🇺🇾. I am excited to explore new opportunities and further expand the legacy of combat sports in these countries.
But now, it’s time to return home and share time with my loving family.
