For many years, Mr. Karim Chebbi has been the sole promoter who has worked tirelessly to organize combat sports events in Tunisia. He has overcome countless challenges to promote events in his country of origin, a country he holds deeply in his heart, investing his time, his own financial resources, and taking significant personal and financial risks.
He offers dreams to everyone, but all too often he is met with nightmares in return, and this is no longer acceptable.
Despite these efforts, he has too often faced disrespect, contempt, and unjustified criticism from a minority of individuals and clubs.
While the WKN fully respects freedom of expression and acknowledges that everyone may share opinions on social media, behaviors such as insulting officials, destroying locker rooms, or disturbing public order are unacceptable and will are not tolerated in any promotion worldwide.
Entering the ring is never easy, but choosing to be a fighter means accepting the rules of the sport. Competing in one’s home country does not guarantee victory. The WKN remains a serious, fair, and principled federation and will continue to enforce its regulations strictly.
To be notes: WKN fully respects national commissions. Depending on national regulations, title fights may be contested over 3×3 or 5×3 but also 3 x2, 4×2 and 5×2 rounds. However, only World Championship bouts are mandatory and universally contested over 5 × 3 rounds, without exception. Other titles may vary according to national commission rules.
All those who criticize rather than contribute should look to the example of the new Tunisian World Champion, Ramzi Nouainia, who embodies the highest values of Tunisian sport: respect, humility, perseverance, and discipline.
After suffering defeat in his own country years ago, he accepted the result with honor, worked tirelessly, and step by step achieved his dream instead of attacking the work of others.
