Kickboxing fans in Northern Ireland wonβt get their Halloween treat, as the scheduled for October 31 A ProKick Spooktacular Event in Belfast has been postponed due to new restrictions imposed amid coronavirus crisis. Nevertheless, Christmas is set to come early, as the event has been rescheduled to December 19 under the famed KICKmas banner.
KICKmas 2020 will see the same scheduled bouts, as trio of Northern IrelandΓ’β¬β’s rising stars β Grace Goody, Jay Snoddon and James Braniff step into the ring to battle it out for WKN amateur titles in their respective weight classes.
Bantamweight Goody takes on Pia Peters of Germany for the womenΓ’β¬β’s European K1 style kickboxing crown. Lightweight Snoddon meets Ranieri Cingolani of Italy, contesting for the WKN International strap. Welterweight Braniff faces Joshua Embradura of Wales for the WKN British belt.
The event promoted by former four-division Full Contact world champion Billy Murray continues the series of βmade in ProKickβ events, that was launched back in 90s.
KICKmas 2020 on December 19 at Stormont Hotel will mark fifteen years to the day, when one of the biggest World Championship bouts in Full Contact Kickboxing headlined KICKmas 2005 at the Ulster Hall. That contest saw Samir βThe Princeβ Mohamed and Gary βThe Belfast Kidβ Hamilton, battling it out for WKN World Lightweight title. Boxing legend βMarvelous Marvin Haglerβ was special guest at ringside.
