Three WKN titles were on the line at “La Nuit du K1 – Les Défis du Sud” held last night (June 29) at Gymnase Nelson Mandela in Saint Pierre, in Réunion.
In the main event Yasser Olivier Lagarrigue faced Belgian Julien Schelkens in the contest for WKN Intercontinental Super Lightweight title. The encounter ended in first round in favor of the local competitor, who scored the win by knockout.
In the co-main event Vianney Seperoumal took on Lahcen Ait Oussakour, also representing Belgium. The local fight came out victorious by TKO in the fourth round and took WKN Continental Middleweight belt.
In addition, Mathias Ruinguin of Reunion squared off against Cano Perez Anderson of Italy. The juniors met in a three-round battle with WKN International Welterweight title at stake. The verdict pronounced the latter as the winner by a unanimous decision.
The event marked the second visit of World Kickboxing Network to Indian Ocean.

The triple WKN championship event in Réunion was presented back to back with Gladiators Fight Night 23 held in Paola, Malta on the same day (June 29). The event saw newly-crowned WKN Featherweight champion in Full Contact Keith Azzopardi of Malta earning the second belt when he defeated Qurban Hosseini of Germany by a unanimous decision taking WKN Featherweight title in oriental kickboxing.
