KKF Sets a Global Standard by Elevating the National Junior Under-18 Kun Khmer Championship to World-Class Level !
The National Junior Under-18 Kun Khmer Championship, organized by the KKF – Kun Khmer Federation, stands as an exceptional achievement in the world of amateur combat sports. Held under the leadership of General Khov Chhay, President of the KKF (WKN Cambodia coordinator), and under the high patronage of His Excellency Wat Chamreoun, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, this championship reflects an unprecedented level of institutional respect for amateur Kun Khmer.
Taking place from February 2 to 5, 2026, at the Takmao City Garden in Kandal Province, the event brings together the KKF Executive Committee, honored guests, national and provincial Kun Khmer representatives, the Takmao City Authority, highlighting strong national cooperation.
What makes this championship truly remarkable is the level of organization. For an amateur junior competition, the structure, professionalism, and scale are comparable to any major professional world championship internationally—a reality rarely seen in combat sports. This demonstrates the seriousness, vision, and long-term commitment of both the KKF and Cambodian authorities toward youth development.
With the participation of three new provincial associations—Sihanoukville, Kampong Cham, and Kratie and a clear increase in both the number of athletes and the technical quality of performances, this edition proves the continuous progress of Kun Khmer at the grassroots level.
In a global context where amateur championships are often underestimated or marginalized, Cambodia sets a powerful example. Through the leadership of General Khov Chhay, and the strong support of national institutions, amateur Kun Khmer receives the dignity, visibility, and impact it truly deserves.
