The Spirit of WKN: Italian Open in Light Contact Accessible to All 🇮🇹!
On November 1st, the Italian Open in Light Contact will take place under the banner of the WKN in Capolona, Tuscany promoted by Nicola Jakini.
This event represents an important step in the new vision we want to bring forward: making our competitions accessible to everyone, and giving every passionate martial artist the opportunity to live a true international experience.
The WKN is known worldwide for its professional champions and prestigious fight nights. But with these new Open tournaments, we want to highlight another mission of ours: to open our doors to all clubs, all academies, and all practitioners, regardless of their level or background. Our goal is clear: to give everyone the chance to be part of our federation, to show their progress, and to gain recognition for their efforts.
The choice of Light Contact style for this Italian Open reflects this spirit perfectly. It is a technical, educational, and formative discipline, where precision and control are valued above power. This makes it truly accessible to everyone, men and women, young and adult, beginner or advanced. It is a competition format where respect, skill, and sportsmanship take center stage.
Taking part in a WKN Open means much more than just stepping into the ring:
• It is joining the world of WKN a global, respected federation.
• It is earning the chance to win an WKN official medal or certificate, a true symbol of merit.
• It is bringing visibility to one’s club or academy through a national.
• And above all, it is contributing to the growth of amateur fight sports, within a community that values both future champions and everyday practitioners.
With these Opens, the WKN wishes to reaffirm that combat sports are not only for the elite, but for everyone who trains with discipline, dedication, and passion.
The Italian Open on November 1st will therefore be a unique opportunity to take this new step, to join the great WKN family, and to represent your club and your country in a technical and inspiring competition open to all.
