World Kickboxing Network returns to Scotland on July 7 with Against the Ropes Fight Night held at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre. The event is promoted by Albert Ross, who over the years produced various events including No Surrender, Battle of the Gladiators, Kickboxing World Challenge and Night of Combat.
In 2000s WKN has sanctioned numerous championship events in Scotland, visiting such cities as Motherwell and Aberdeen. The WKN British, European and Intercontinental title belts were contested by some of the most prominent kickboxers of the region at that time.
